SILENT AUCTION


The Silent Auction held at the Southern Cairn Terrier Club Centenary Show was a great success and thanks must go to Ferelith Somerfield, Brenda Birch, Millie Jennings, Jim Pollock, Sonia White, Sue Kinton and Frances Goldfinch who kindly donated items providing an interesting mix of Lots some of which were rare and also unique.

There was lively bidding by those at the Show and also by some absentee bidders, fierce competition was seen on the two most popular Lots, a silver and enamel cocktail stick and a Canine Capers plate, both exceeded their expected price. At the Dinner in the evening we witnessed Jim Pollock's auctioneering skills and again we saw some spirited bidding on two Marjorie Cox pastels, both of which had provenance which is not always the case with this particular artist. The successful bidders were Steve Dean and Alma Smee.

The total raised was £750 a very satisfactory contribution towards the Club's expenses, thanks to all those who took part and dug deep!
